What is Swing for a Million?

Swing for a Million is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access and opportunity in youth and teen golf through charitable support, partnerships, and program development.

Does Swing for a Million run golf tournaments or prize contests?

No.

Swing for a Million does not organize, operate, administer, insure, or award prizes in connection with golf tournaments or prize contests.

Who operates the golf events and contests?

 All golf events and prize contests associated with the Swing for a Million brand are organized and operated exclusively by American Golf Classic, an independent event operator.

American Golf Classic is responsible for:

  • Event operations
  • Contest rules and procedures
  • Compliance and verification
  • Prize insurance
  • Claim submission and approval

Are the prizes real and insured?

Yes.

Prize contests are insured through third-party prize indemnity providers, including US Hole In One Association, and are subject to strict verification and compliance requirements.

Who pays the prizes?

Prize awards are paid by the prize insurance provider, not by:

  • Swing for a Million
  • Golf courses
  • Sponsors
  • Players

Swing for a Million does not fund or pay prizes.

Is this a raffle, lottery, or game of chance?

No.

Prize contests are skill-based golf challenges, not raffles, lotteries, or games of chance, and are not charitable gaming activities.

Participation in a prize contest does not constitute a charitable donation.

Does participating in an event count as a donation to the nonprofit?

No.

  • Entry fees or contest participation are not charitable donations
  • Prize winnings are not donations and are not tax-deductible

Only direct charitable contributions made to Swing for a Million may be considered for tax deductibility, subject to applicable law.

How does Swing for a Million receive support?

Swing for a Million may receive support through:

  • Charitable donations
  • Sponsorships
  • Grants
  • Allocated proceeds from independently operated events

All support is administered in accordance with nonprofit governance standards and applicable laws.

Does Swing for a Million control contest rules or outcomes?

No.

Swing for a Million does not:

  • Set contest rules
  • Verify shots
  • Determine winners
  • Resolve prize disputes
  • Modify event procedures

All such matters are handled exclusively by American Golf Classic and the prize insurer.

What happens if someone wins a prize?

Winning shots must meet all verification requirements, including:

  • Certified yardage
  • Required witnesses
  • Video documentation
  • Proper timing and procedures

Prize approval is subject to insurer review. No prize is guaranteed.

What if compliance requirements are not met?

If any required procedure is not followed:

  • The attempt may be disqualified
  • The prize claim may be denied

There are no substitutions, assumptions, or post-event corrections.

Are there state or local restrictions?

Yes.

Some activities may be restricted or prohibited in certain jurisdictions.
Events and contests are void where prohibited by law, and state-specific disclosures are provided where required.
